…that Frederic Chopin had a dog in mind when he wrote the famous "Minute
Waltz?" Supposedly George Sand had a little dog who constantly chased his
tail in circles. This so amused Chopin that he created the "Minute Waltz,"
to depict the dog's movements. So instead of creating the waltz to be
played in one minute as is commonly believed, it was designed to refer to
small or short, not a specific amount of time.
